Integration. Cornerstone Village will set-aside up to 20-25% of apartment homes for persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD).
Independent Rental. Cornerstone Village provides independent rental housing, where each person or household will have an individual lease, and participation in services is not a condition of tenancy. Licensure typically associated with senior continuums of care and group-home living does not apply.
Consumer Choice. Residents – whether they are aging or have a disability – may need supportive services to maintain their independence and pursue individual goals. Cornerstone Village supports consumer choice and person-centered care. Residents will select their own service provider, which may be Bethesda Lutheran Communities in some cases.
Social Engagement. To engage residents in community life, Bethesda will provide social, recreational, and Christian-based programming. Activities will be tailored to resident interests, such as craft groups, game nights, and exercise groups. In respect of fair housing and individual choice, Cornerstone Village welcomes residents of any faith or no faith.
Affordability. All our communities will focus on creating affordable rents for persons with disabilities. Depending on the location, the entire building may have affordability restrictions on all units.
